Volvo Car Malaysia updates lineup for 2026

KUALA LUMPUR: Fresh off the recent announcements of the refreshed XC60 and single-motor EC40, Volvo Car Malaysia has now fully updated all its lineup for model year 2026.

Volvo Car Malaysia managing director Chris Wailes said the refreshed XC60 and the addition of the single-motor EC40 are strengthening the company's offerings to provide more choices that fit the lifestyles of Malaysian customers.

"As we move into 2026, our focus remains on delivering the very best of Volvo – cars that combine safety, performance, and sustainability.

"Looking ahead, we are also preparing for an exciting milestone as we look forward to our first-ever, fully electric sedan for Malaysia," he said.

The refreshed XC60

The refreshed XC60, which was introduced last month, features new additions such as an athletic and elegant front grille, air suspension, and the latest intuitive technology.

Pricing of the refreshed XC60 variants have been confirmed with the T8 AWD plug-in hybrid starting from RM362,888 and the B5 AWD mild hybrid from RM328,888.

The refreshed XC60 T8 AWD plug-in hybrid offers up to 89km of pure electric driving (WLTP) – ideal for zero-emission commutes, school drop-offs, and city errands.

Delivering over 450Nm of torque, it offers both performance and efficiency in one package.
Meanwhile, the refreshed XC60 B5 mild hybrid presents a convenient and plug-free solution.

The Single Motor EC40

For model year 2026, the EC40 – the brand’s first electric-only crossover SUV – is now available with a single motor variant, priced at RM248,888.

This new variant is offered exclusively in Ultra trim, featuring Volvo’s in-house developed rear electric motor with 175kW (238hp), enabling acceleration from 0–100kph in 7.3 seconds.

Powered by a 70kWh battery, it delivers up to 488km (WLTP) of range and can be charged from 10–80% in just 26 minutes with fast DC charging.

A new Sand Dune exterior colour, inspired by Sweden’s west coast, makes its debut on the EC40, joining existing colourways Aurora Silver, Onyx Black, and Crystal White.

The new XC90

The new XC90, and Volvo’s flagship family SUV is also now available in a new Aurora Silver exterior colour, complementing the existing colours of Onyx Black, Denim Blue and Crystal White.

The flagship family SUV is available in two powertrain options – the T8 plug-in hybrid or the B5 mild hybrid – each with 2.0-litre engine mated to an eight-speed Geartronic transmission powering all-wheel drive.

Priced at RM434,888, the electric motor in the XC90 Ultra T8 gives it a maximum combined power of 462hp and 709Nm of torque and fuel consumption as low was 1.8 litres per 100km.

On the other hand, the XC90 Ultra B5 is offered at RM418,888 and brings a maximum of 249hp of power and 350Nm of torque.

Both variants comes with the top Ultra trim featuring a 11.2-inch centre display with the next-generation Volvo Cars UX, 12.3-inch driver display and a head-up display, next-generation Pilot Assist with adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree camera and Bowers & Wilkins High Fidelity audio.

Also included are powered and ventilated front seats with memory function and four-way lumbar support, panoramic sunroof with powered sunshade, and four-zone climate control.

New user interface

To further complement the model year 2026 range is the introduction of Volvo Car UX, the brand’s next-generation user interface.

Available as standard across all model year 2026 carlines globally, the new interface enhances ease of use with a refined vertical layout on the centre display.

It also features larger buttons and dynamic shortcuts that appear contextually – such as direct access to drive modes at startup or a 360-degree camera button when slowing down to park.

All Volvo models are available across all Volvo showrooms nationwide.
