Volvo EM90 MPV coming up next
By CARSIFU | 25 August 2023
GOTHENBURG: Volvo is moving into the MPV space. And it's gotta be electric, of course.
The Swedish car company has just announced that the EM90 will make its global debut on Nov 12. Pre-order will start for customers in China on the same date.
According to a Volvo statement, the EM90 is its first ever fully electric premium MPV, and is designed "for you to make the most of the time spent in the car, like a Scandinavian living room on the move. The new EM90 doesn’t just allow you to travel from A to B – it creates room for your life."
The EM90 follows on as the third next-generation electric vehicle in the Volvo line-up after the EX90 and EX30.
As its name seems to indicate, the EM90 will likely use the same battery and powertrain setup as the EX90.
That would mean the EM90 would have battery capacity in excess of 100kWh and a range of over 480km.
Volvo is possibly positioning its EM90 to go up against the Mercedes-Benz EQV.
