JANDA BAIK: Volvo Car Malaysia has introduced its first electric Cross Country model in Malaysia – the compact EX30 Cross Country – that is equally at home on rough terrain as well as city streets.
Priced from RM218,888, the first 100 units booked will be offered with a launch package which includes a RM12,000 cash rebate, a complimentary Volvo Wallbox worth RM3,990, a Load Carrier worth RM2,098 and a Roof Basket worth RM3,680.
Available exterior colours are Crystal White, Vapour Grey and Cloud Blue.

Sharing the underpinnings of the EX30 SUV, the EX30 Cross Country gets several extra features, including an advanced chassis design and a 19mm higher ground clearance, to give more confidence when travelling on unpaved roads.
Its minimalistic Scandinavian design comes with matt black and vapour grey accents, paired with distinctive cross-country detailing that includes low-gloss vapour grey skid plates to matte black lower bumpers and wheel arch extensions.
Wheels are the 19-inch type and the front also comes with a large cladding featuring the topography of Kebnekaise, Sweden’s highest mountain peak.

The vehicle also features the signature Cross Country nameplate on the C-pillar and embossed CC logo at the rear along with a low-gloss rear shield design.
Steering comes with fine-tuned software to optimise steering torque build-up, active return, and damping for better control in tight corners and a connected feel to the road.
Propelling the locally assembled EX30 Cross Country is a twin-motor all-wheel-drive that delivers 428hp and 543Nm of torque for a 0-100kph sprint in 3.7 seconds.

Its WLTP-rated driving range is 437km and the 69kWh NMC battery pack can be charged up from 10% to 80% in just 27 minutes using a 175kW DC rapid charger.
Inside, the EX30 Cross Country showcases natural and responsibly produced materials that include upcycled denim textiles and bio-attributed Nordico upholstery.
The interior takes inspiration from the indigo, deep blue colour of a starry night sky and similar to the purple tones of the sunset's last rays.

Infotainment system comes with built-in Google Services including Google Assistant, Google Maps, and a wide range of apps via Google Play Store, accessible through a 12.3-inch centre screen.
A sophisticated Harmon Kardon Premium Sound system pairs with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity to deliver an immersive in-car audio experience.
The doors contain large storage compartments in place of speakers, which have been relocated to the dashboard as a soundbar.

Meanwhile, the rear luggage space of the EX30 Cross Country holds 318 litres with all seats up, or 718 litres with the second-row seats folded.
As standard, the EX30 Cross Country gets Volvo's state-of-the-art safety technology that offers braking and steering support for collision avoidance, a smart Driver Understanding system, and next-generation Pilot Assist and Park Pilot Assist.
Volvo Cars Malaysia and Thailand managing director Chris Wailes said the EX30 Cross Country is not just simply a car but a fully rounded experience for those who want the freedom to explore and the confidence to go anywhere.

"The adage that ‘life is full of adventures’ is so apt when we describe living in Malaysia because it is a country where you can find some of the oldest rainforests in the region just a few hours away from the world's tallest buildings," he said.
Aside from the launch of the EX30 Cross Country, Volvo Car Malaysia also announced updates to the EX30 Ultra variant.
As a compelling choice in the company's local EV lineup, the EX30 Ultra is now available at a more competitive price point, starting from RM198,888 without insurance in four exterior colours – Crystal White, Vapour Grey, Cloud Blue, and Onyx Black.

Volvo Car Malaysia also unveiled its Digital Service Booking (DSB) that makes it easier and more convenient for customers to schedule service appointments through the Volvo Car Malaysia website or the Volvo Cars App.
The service promises a more personal and effortless ownership experience when booking aftersales services.
DSB is currently offered by Volvo authorised retailers in the Klang Valley with plans to expand to other regions across Malaysia.
