Volvo Padel Open 2025: Record high turnout

KUALA LUMPUR: After six thrilling weekends, the Volvo Padel Open 2025 came to an electrifying close recently and cemented its place as Malaysia’s largest and most exciting padel tournament.

In its second edition, the tournament drew a record-breaking turnout with over 400 players across three categories – Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced – and 160 first-timers.

Volvo Car Malaysia marketing operations and PR director Patricia Yaw said, “We’re proud to complete another successful Volvo Padel Open. Padel and Volvo grow hand in hand, both standing for inclusivity, wellness, and connection. "

"It’s inspiring to see players of all ages and backgrounds forge new friendships on and off the court”.

This year’s event, held in collaboration with three of Klang Valley’s premier padel clubs – Joy Division Padel, Padelground, and PadelKu – and supported by partners Coca-Cola Malaysia, Tactical Padel, Directors’ ThinkTank, and REGEN Physio & Sports Rehab, offered prizes worth over RM180,000.

Champions also walked away with free court hours, a seven-day experience in a fully electric Volvo and Tactical racquets or merchandise.

To keep matches balanced and competitive, all Beginner and Intermediate players underwent mandatory assessments by professional coaches to ensure fair play.

Players were also offered complimentary coaching clinics, to further equip newcomers with confidence and refine their technical abilities, setting the stage for exciting on-court action during their qualifying matches.

The Grand Finals on July 27 saw the courts buzzing with excitement as players, families, and spectators gathered to witness nail-biting rallies and spirited competition.

Emotions ran high as many stayed until the very last match, cheering on their favourites and celebrating every point.
