KUALA LUMPUR: Volvo Car Malaysia has introduced the new Volvo Wallbox, which offers a highly reliable way to charge at home.
The new Wallbox combines smart connectivity with the brand's signature minimalist Scandinavian aesthetic.
Volvo Cars head of commercial offer APeC (Asia Pacific excluding China) Sun Qian said, "The new Volvo Wallbox is fully integrated with the Volvo Cars App, which gives our drivers straightforward, intuitive control over not only their car, but their entire home charging setup, directly from their smartphones.”
The Wallbox can deliver charging speeds of up to 11kW (on a three-phase installation).
It is built to be durable with an IP55 classification and comes equipped with a standard Type 2 cable.
Through a cloud connection via Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or an optional SIM card, users can use the Volvo Cars App to monitor their charging status, start or stop sessions, view charging history, and easily set schedules to optimise their energy usage.
For households with multiple drivers or shared parking spaces, the Wallbox includes two RFID cards, allowing owners to easily manage and restrict access to the charger.
The Wallbox is also engineered with future capabilities in mind, including the ability to interface with an external energy meter to charge using excess solar power.
Available at all Volvo dealerships nationwide, the Wallbox retails at RM3,990 and is backed by a 36-month hardware warranty.
