Meanwhile, Europe will soon see the German carmaking giant introduce the Arteon Shooting Brake that will be bundled with new powertrain options that include a 218PS plug-in hybrid and a 320PS R performance variant.

Seat heating, windscreen and window defrosting functions as well as other air conditioner regulations are also controlled using new touch-sensitive surfaces in the centre console.
The Arteon is equipped with a 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit which allows the driver to configure the instrument display quickly and easily with three basic layouts using a View button on the multifunction steering wheel.
Furthermore, the new MIB3 infotainment system has been adopted and is located above the new air-conditioning controls.
All variants of the Arteon in the United States will be equipped as standard with an 8.0-inch Discover Media system that comes with navigation.
The MIB3 system is said to offer natural voice control as well as the ability to pair multiple smartphones, wireless App-Connect and wireless charging.
The sound system can now be upgraded to carry the Harman/Kardon logo which uses a 700-watt 16-channel Ethernet amplifier to power twelve speakers including a centre speaker and a subwoofer in the boot while providing four pre-configured settings of Pure, Chill out, Live and Energy.
For power, the Arteon still maintains the use of the current 2.0-litre TSI direct-injected engine with 268hp and 350Nm that's mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission with Tiptronic shifting for the front wheels.
