VW Golf GTI: Limited edition rims for 50 units

KUALA LUMPUR: In celebration of the Golf GTI turning 50 years old, Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) has introduced new Hunstville Adamantium Dark rims – only available for 50 units of the GTI as a free upgrade.

The Golf GTI has a recommended retail price of RM255,990.

Featuring a striking dark finish, the 18-inch five-spoke alloy wheel with unique Y-spoke design allows a clear view of the GTI’s red brake callipers.

For five decades, the Golf GTI has been recognised around the world as the original hot hatch.

What initially began as a secret project by a small team of engineers in the 1970s to build a sportier, performance Golf, resulted in a cult classic that holds a special place in the hearts of true petrolheads.

Later launched in Germany in 1976, the GTI remains the go-to car for those who love the thrill.

Volkswagen's GTI 50 campaign is the brand's global celebration of five decades of GTI heritage, marking the anniversary of its first release in 1976.

In Malaysia, enthusiasts can look forward to all things GTI this year – from social media giveaways to fun GTI activations at Volkswagen dealerships nationwide.

Volkswagen Malaysia is also currently running a Test Drive and Win contest, where customers are invited to test drive any Volkswagen model to be in the running to win a limited edition GTI Touch ‘n Go card.

The test drives will need to be completed by July 12, 2026.

Test drives can be booked via https://testdrive.volkswagen.com.my/
