WATCH: Brand new Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato hits dirt road and water crossing

PETALING JAYA: You are supposed to break in a brand new car gently but in this video by American YouTuber Ron, he does it the contrarian way with a Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato.

Straight from the showroom and within an hour of hard driving, he reaches a dirt trail and goes full pelt with the US$280,000 (RM1.3mil) sports car that Lamborghini has purpose-built for off-road escapades.

Underneath the hood, this dirt-road Huracán packs a 610-hp, V10 engine that lets it go from zero to 100kph in 3.4 seconds, and gives it a top speed of 257kph. It's fitted with the custom-developed Bridgestone Dueler All-Terrain AT002 run-flat tyres to handle on-road and off-road surfaces.

Good thing the car comes with a higher ground clearance than the standard Huracan as that helped it in crossing a stream —which by the way didn't look that challenging.

But still, who would do that to a brand new car especially a Lambo?

Well, Ron did. The man obviously wanted to remain incognito as he had masked his face throughout the nearly 11-minute clip as he commented on the car and how it drives.

Few Huracan Sterrato owners will ever subject their cars to such punishment and they have Ron to thank for in showing how well it stands up to the test.

Only 1,499 units of the Huracan Sterrato would be made worldwide.

Driving the move into offroading for sports car companies is the quest for big bucks from such a venture. Another sports car company that has done the same thing is Porsche with its US$222,000 (RM1mil) Dakar 911 car.
