KUALA LUMPUR: Chinese marque Zeekr is set to accelerate its growth in Malaysia via dealer network expansion as well as branding and marketing activities.
The premium new energy vehicle (NEV) group under Geely Holding has set up its national sales company (NSC) in Malaysia, namely Zeekr Intelligent Technology (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd.
In a statement, Zeekr said this strategic move marks a significant milestone for the marque in Southeast Asia.
Zeekr Intelligent Technology will directly oversee wholesale operations, dealer network expansion, branding and marketing activities, as well as aftersales operations in Malaysia.
“Zeekr has recently achieved a significant milestone with the production of our 500,000th mass-produced vehicle globally as of June," said Zeekr Southeast Asia managing director Alex Bao.
"We have successfully expanded into over 40 countries and regions. Among them, Malaysia is one of the most important markets for Zeekr in Southeast Asia, and we are investing significant commitment and resources to build a strong and lasting presence here”, he added.
Bao added that setting up the NSC reinforces Zeekr's long-term commitment to Malaysia, with three key focus areas - expanding network availability, enhancing aftersales services, and increasing marketing investment.
Currently, Zeekr has two official showrooms in Malaysia, namely Zeekr Space in Petaling Jaya and Zeekr Space in IOI Mall Puchong.
With the formation of the NSC, and together with its local partners — Sentinel Automotive Sdn Bhd (official importer and dealer), as well as dealers like Preeminent Auto and Carro — Zeekr will further accelerate its expansion by opening eight additional authorised showrooms.
These will be located in Bandar Sunway and Jalan Yap Kwan Seng, Kuala Lumpur (by July 2025); Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur and Skudai, Johor Bahru and Penang (by third quarter of 2025), and Seremban, Malacca and Ipoh (by fourth quarter of 2025).
Zeekr also remains committed to delivering a premium ownership experience.
The company will establish three official Zeekr service centres in Bandar Sunway (Selangor), Penang, and Johor Bahru, all due to begin operations by 2025.
Zeekr Intelligent Technology (Malaysia) is also actively seeking new business partners and dealership candidates in the following areas: Cheras, Kuantan, Tebrau (Johor Bahru), Kuching, and Kota Kinabalu.
