BMW brings electromobility to Sarawak with iX and DC fast charger
By CARSIFU | 01 March 2022KUCHING: BMW Group Malaysia and Regas Group announced on Monday the arrival of the iX and an i charging facility at Regas Premium Auto Kuching.
The DC fast charger is one of only two in Sarawak.
The RM357,000 electric SUV is on display at the dealership until March 2.
BMW started deploying DC fast chargers last December with the first one installed at Auto Bavaria in Ara Damansara, Petaling Jaya.
BMW's 180kW fast charger comes standard with twin Combined Charging System (CCS) connectors to charge two cars at once.
BMW said the fast charger is able to charge a car from an indicative zero charge to 80% in 30 mins depending on model and battery capacity. If two cars are plugged in to the charger at the same time, each would be charged at 90kW and would take longer to reach 80%.
