Innovations include a new VTEC TURBO engine which provides a powerful performance and excellent fuel efficiency, as well as advanced technologies that enhance comfort and safety.

The Civic is available in two different drivetrains – a brand new 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine as well as an improved 1.8 litre normally aspirated petrol engine.

The 1.5-litre DOHC VTEC TURBO engine and a new CVT, both developed under Earth Dreams Technology, provides 173hp at 5,500 rpm and maximum torque of 220Nm at 1,700 – 5,500 rpm - a performance comparable to a 2.4-litre engine but with better fuel efficiency equivalent to a 1.8-litre engine.

The 1.8-litre SOHC i-VTEC engine is the same as before and is mated to a CVT developed under Earth Dreams Technology to offer a responsive driving performance and better fuel savings. The engine, also compatible with E85 fuel, produces 141hp at 6,500 rpm and maximum torque of 174Nm at 4,300 rpm. This is the same engine also found in the HR-V.
