The Subaru Forester gets turbocharged
By RIZAL JOHAN | 08 September 2020PETALING JAYA: The Subaru Forester looks to get refreshed for the US market this October and a new report from Best Car Web claims that it is doing away with the naturally-aspirated 2.5L engine and replacing it with a 1.8 turbocharged mill instead.
The turbocharged boxer four-cylinder 1.8 litre engine is derived from the Levorg which produces 174hp and 300Nm of torque.
The gearbox is expected to remain the same with its continuously variable transmission (CVT) and Symmetrical all-wheel drive system.
In Malaysia, the Subaru Forester is available in four variants and all feature the 2.0 litre petrol boxer engine which produces 156PS and 196Nm of torque. The top variants include the Subaru Eyesight safety suite.
