"As of today, Honda's cumulative global sales of hybrid vehicles has exceeded 2 million units. We will expand our line-up of hybrid vehicles, by adding hybrid types to CR-V and Step WGN," said Honda Motor president and CEO Takahiro Hachigo.
"We will continue to strengthen hybrid, plug-in hybrid and EV (electric vehicle) models," said Hachigo.
Among the key Honda exhibits at the Tokyo Motor Show 2017 are:
Clarity PHEV:
The Clarity PHEV, a new-generation plug-in hybrid model, features an exterior form with low vehicle height, spacious cabin that seats 5 adults and a large-capacity cargo area.
The Clarity PHEV is scheduled to go on sale in Japan in summer 2018.
By using the Honda Sport Hybrid i-MMD (Intelligent Multi-Mode Drive) - a two-motor hybrid powertrain, the output and capacity of the battery were increased, and the EV range of more than 100km was made possible.
