BMW reveals 2 Series Gran Tourer

MUNICH: BMW has put its luxury touch onto its new compact seven-seater 2 Series Gran Tourer that offers a minimum of 645 litres of luggage space, five turbo engine variants and all-wheel drive.

Despite the Gran Tourer measuring 4,556mm-long, 1,800mm-wide and 1,608mm-high, the luggage compartment that can be expanded from 645 to 805 litres with the rear seat slid all the way forward or 1,905 litres when folded down.

BMW will be offering five engine variants for the 2 Series Gran Tourer and its four variants, starting with the Advantage model which comes with a two-zone automatic air conditioning system, park distance control, cruise control with braking function and a multifunctional steering wheel.

The Sport Line model accentuates gets owners exclusive exterior specifications such as special light-alloy wheels and sports seats, whereas the Luxury Line gets chrome applications, select light-alloys and leather appointments.

Lastly, the M Sport model comes with a choice of the M Aerodynamics package, BMW Individual high-gloss Shadow Line, M leather steering wheel and M Sport seats to name a few.

To go along with the Gran Tourer’s xDrive all-wheel drive system are BMW’s three and four-cylinder engines that will range in power output from 114bhp to 190bhp.

The Gran Tourer will also have access to BMW’s EfficientDynamics package to allow owners to raise the sporty dynamics of the car.

Other additional features include BMW’s ConnectedDrive, head-up display, Traffic Jam Assistant, “myKIDIO” app (initially available in Germany only), iDrive Controller, Control Display and BMW Kids Cockpit.
