BMW's adventure rallye calls female off-road riders

After Africa, South America and Canada, the BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy will head to Asia in March 2016 and for the first time the adventure rallye is going to feature an all-female international team and registration is now open for the qualifying rounds.

BMW Motorrad has organised the International GS Trophy every two years since 2008, where BMW GS riders from numerous countries can converge to engage in sporting competition with each other not just on a motorcycle, but in a wide range of other disciplines, too.

In 2008, the event started with five teams in Tunisia, growing to 16 teams when the competition reached North America in 2014 and for 2016, there will be 18 national teams representing their countries – with the addition of one special team.

That team calls on ladies who love their GS bikes to come forth and register (deadline June 26) to show their skill and talent as a female off-road rider during the qualifying rounds held from Sept 9 to 16.

From all applications worldwide, a jury will select ten women (based on riding performance, skills and teamwork capacity) to be invited to South Africa.

The top ten will then make up the international female team and battle it out for victory at the upcoming 2016 BMW Motorrad GS Trophy event.
