"While it is common knowledge that it is compulsory to have a riding licence to operate a motorcycle, many in Malaysia do not comply with this law," said Naza Premira Chief Operating Officer Farouk Faisal.
The MoU is in support of the government's efforts to help make riding safer and with every new purchase of a Vespa Primavera ABS 150 and Vespa Sprint ABS 150 scooter, a new rider will have free lessons at Metro Driving Academy.
However, if new riders are not able to pass on their first try, Metro Driving Academy managing director Mat Aris Bakar assured: "we will make sure that they are re-trained until they pass."
New Vespa owners who already have a valid riding licence can opt for six months of free petrol under the current "Vespa, why drive? Let's ride..." campaign.
The Vespa Primavera ABS 150 and Vespa Sprint ABS 150 scooters come standard with the fuel-efficient i-Get (Green Engine Technology) motor and anti-lock braking system for safety as well as a USB charging port.
