KUALA LUMPUR: The GAC GS3 Emzoom compact sport utility vehicle (SUV) previewed here today is expected to be priced below RM130,000.
Locally assembled units are expected to roll off the production line in the second quarter 2024 at the Tan Chong Motor Assemblies plant (TCMA) in Segambut, Kuala Lumpur.
WTC Automotif (M) Sdn Bhd (WTCA), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Warisan TC Holdings Bhd, has open bookings for the GS3 Emzoom with a booking fee of RM1,000 and the first 100 bookings will be invited for a private event.
Two variants, Exclusive and Premium-R, are offered and it is available in four limited-edition colour options – Ivory White, Starlight Silver, Lake Blue and Graphene Grey.
It is powered by a third-generation 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol direct injection (TGDI) engine with 177ps at 5,500rpm and 270Nm at 1,400rpm.
It has a fuel consumption rating of 5.9 litres per 100km.
The GS3 Emzoom promises power and efficiency, with features like the mid-mounted exhaust and a rear flat floor.
Design elements include an iconic mecha wing grille, laser eye split LED lights, and light dart tail lights, creating a futuristic silhouette.
A rear spoiler emphasises its aggressive persona, and complementing this is a small ducktail-style spoiler seamlessly molded into the bodywork.
There are also electric hidden door handles and a crystal shift gear selector, and a large and spacious interior
Also displayed at the preview event were the GAC Emkoo SUV and all-electric GAC Aion Y Plus.
“Today marks a significant milestone in our journey and partnership with GAC Motor and GAC Aion, and we are eager to offer our guests an insight and preview of the GAC line up that WTCA will be introducing in Malaysia later this year, said Warisan TC Holdings CEO Tan Keng Meng.
Customers can get an exclusive preview of the car at GAC’s upcoming roving activation event at Klang Valley from February 2 to 8, 2024.

Tan shared that the first GAC showroom is set to open in Petaling Jaya by end-February 2024, followed by five more showrooms located in Glenmarie, Cyberjaya, Seremban, Johor Bahru and Penang by the first half of 2024.
“We aim to establish over 20 showrooms and service centres nationwide by end-2024,” said Tan.
