10th-gen Honda Accord launched in Indonesia

JAKARTA: Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) in Indonesia has launched the 10th-generation Honda Accord at the 2019 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) in ICE-BSD Tangerang.

The new Accord is being sold in Jakarta, Indonesia at Rp698mil (RM206,000) on-the-road with four colour options of White Pearl Platinum, Crystal Black Pearl, Modern Steel Metallic and Lunar Silver Metallic.

It is accompanied by free periodic maintenance of up to 50,000km or up to four years and a 24-hour Honda Experience Service as well as a variety of optional Modulo accessories such as door visors, trunk tray, step illumination and child seats.

The Accord not only sports a new 1.5-litre VTEC turbocharged engine, but also the Japanese carmaker's SENSING suite of safety technology while being built on a new platform that gives it a lower and wider stance as well as a lighter and more rigid unibody structure.

Externally, it poses with its chrome wing grille and streamlined wing-shaped headlights, aggressive air inlets, 18-inch alloy wheels, LED bulbs as standard for all external lightings that include the daytime running lights, headlights, one-touch turn signals, and rear light cluster.

Power comes from a 1.5-litre VTEC turbocharged engine with 190PS and 260Nm of torque from 1,600 to 5,000rpm while mated to a continuously variable transmission with paddle shifters and driving modes of Sport and fuel-saving Econ.

Safety is bolstered by Honda SENSING advanced safety technology that includes Collision Mitigation Brake System (CMBS) with Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM) with Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow (LSF) and Auto-High Beam.

The system works in tandem with the likes of vehicle stability assist, electric power steering system and brake assist while being equipped with six airbags anti-lock braking system, electronic brakeforce distribution, brake assist, auto-brake hold, hill start assist, a multi-angle rearview camera, Honda LaneWatch, and the new Driver Attention Monitor.



Inside, there's leather upholstery, a 7.0-inch multi-information display and an 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, powered front seats with driver's memory function, 48mm increase in legroom over the previous generation, two USB ports at the rear and a larger sunshade and a large 573-liter boot.

The cabin boasts of added insulation was applied throughout the body, including a new Wheel Resonator to lower tyre and underbody noise while driving as well as an Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) system.

For convenience, the Accord gets Remote Engine Start, Push-start Button, Walk-away Auto-lock, electric parking brake, Auto-dimming rearview mirror and automatic wipers among others.
