Honda Malaysia has updated its best-selling City compact sedan with a new look, and extra equipment, at no additional cost.
It comes in three variants and maintains its on-the-road price with GST and insurance at RM78,300 for the entry-level S; RM84,600 for the mid-range E and RM92,000 for the range-topping V variant.
Warranty for the new City remains at five years with unlimited mileage at 10,000km service intervals.
Standard kit on all variants include smart entry with push-start ignition, fuel economy mode button, auto retractable door mirrors, dual tone alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, steering wheel audio controls.
Also, there are 8 cup holders, an audio system with hands-free feature and a USB port,
For safety, it comes with two airbags, anti-lock brake system (ABS), electronic brake distribution (EBD), brake assist, vehicle stability assist (VSA), hill start assist (HSA), and child seat ISOFIX on rear seats.
The E variant has automatic air-conditioning, rear air-conditioning vents, 6.8-inch touchscreen, a multi-angle reverse camera and four airbags.
The top grade V variant gets leather seats, eight speakers, and six airbags.
Power from under the hood remains with a 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine, mated to a continuously variable transmission.
It retains its huge 536-litre boot, and 60:40 foldable rear seats.
Stopping power comes from front disc brakes, and rear drum brakes.
There are 5 colours choices of Lunar Silver Metallic, Dark Ruby Red Pearl, Taffeta White, Modern Steel Metallic and Crystal Black Pearl.
"2017 has started on a very exciting note for Honda Malaysia. January continued our momentum from last year and we continue to break records when we achieved 19.2% market share.
"This is not only the highest market share achieved in Malaysia but also the highest in Honda automobile operations globally," said Honda Malaysia Sdn Bhd managing director and CEO Katsuto Hayashi at the launch of the revised City at Setia City Convention Centre.
Hayashi remains confident about achieving the company's 100,000 units target for 2017.
He noted that bookings for the Honda BR-V seven-seater crossover has reached 8,500 units since its launch in early January.
"With two other new models to be launched soon, we are confident of achieving our sales target for this year," he added.
Three upgrade packages are also available for the City.
- Modulo Package consisting of front, rear and side under spoiler (RM2,900); .
- Urban Package consisting of door visor, illuminated side step, foot light and sports pedal (RM1,580)
- Utility Package consisting of trunk tray, trunk organiser, sun shade and door protector film (RM820)
