SEPANG: Hundreds of invited guests at the Mercedes-Benz Driving Experience will experience thrilling tarmac action, thanks to a full line-up of Mercedes-AMG sports cars and professional driving instructors.
The event is being held at Sepang International Circuit, from Nov 2 to 7.
The highlight is without a doubt, a chance to check out the newly launched Mercedes-AMG GT R track monster, priced at an estimated RM1.7 million (on the road without insurance, inclusive of GST). It has 585hp and 700Nm from its twin-turbo V8 engine, conquering 0-100kph in 3.6 seconds on to a top speed of 318kph.
Power is transferred to the rear wheels via an AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed dual clutch transmission.
"We will have more than 500 customers coming to Sepang. You will see a lot of sparkle in their eyes," said Mercedes-Benz Malaysia vice president (sales and marketing - passenger cars) Mark Raine.

The first morning of the Mercedes-Benz Driving Experience saw media members and invited guests experiencing activities such as Launch Control (AMG's race start system for quick acceleration off the line), and a drifting session where the cars' rear tyres used Easy Drift Tyre Covers - meaning you get a lot of grip in front but very little grip in the rear - on a wet surface.
There was also a thrilling accelerate to 100kph, sudden hard braking and steer-and-avoid exercise.
Capping off the day's activities was a two-lap high-speed taxi ride in the GT R track monster, with Australian race driver Peter Hackett at the helm.
