PETALING JAYA: The third-generation all-new Perodua Myvi is coming soon, and bookings will open from tomorrow.
Priced from RM44,300 , it is the first local vehicle in its price range to introduce an array of advanced safety features including Pre-Collision Warning and Braking, which are found only in luxury cars.
The new Myvi is lower, longer, and wider than its predecessor. It sits on alloy rims as standard, measuring 14 inches for 1.3 variants and 15 inches for 1.5 variants (with 2-tone finish).
There is a 973 mm tandem distance (distance between front and rear passengers), thus ensuring enough legroom, and an 8 + 1 flexible seating arrangement.
Powering the new Myvi are new 1.3 and 1.5-litre Energy Efficient Vehicle (EEV) engines. Equipped with Dual VVT-i, the engines are mated to either a five-speed manual transmission (MT) in the 1.3L variant or a four-speed E-AT automatic transmission.
The car features Eco Idle, (1.3X, 1.5H and 1.5AV variants) whereby the engine automatically shuts off when the car is stopped and restarts when the brake pedal is released. Along with aerodynamic improvements, these contribute towards fuel economy figures of 20.1 km per litre for the 1.5-litre Myvi automatic.

Perodua president and CEO Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh said the company has sold over 1 million units of the Myvi (first and second-generations) since the nameplate was launched 12 years ago. The Myvi is the brand's best-selling model to date.
He said the new-generation Myvi is a revolution in design and safety for the Myvi line-up. The new Myvi is also believed to be the only car in its segment to feature four airbags in the standard variants and six in the higher-specced variants.
What's even more unusual is that ALL variants are equipped with Smart Entry with Push Start/Stop button, LED headlamps with Follow-Me function and headlamp levelling. In addition, all variants will also come with ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, Vehicle Stability Control.
The 1.5 High variant has a built-in toll reader - a first for any Perodua car. The driver need only insert his Touch n Go card into the reader and the car is good to drive through SmartTAG toll lanes (do note that toll highway operators may start switching to the more superior RFID tech, come 2018)

> 1.5 Advance (AT): RM55,300
The new Myvi comes with a 5-year or 150,000km (whichever is first) warranty.
Myvi buyers can choose from six body colours: Ivory White, Glittering Silver, Mystical Purple, Lava Red, Peppermint Green (new colour - 1.3 variants only) and Granite Grey (new colour, 1.5 variants only).
Perodua, by the way, is defining the new Myvi as a car with Modern technology, Youthful design, Versatile space and Intelligent safety.
The new Myvi is available for a sneak preview from Nov 9-12 at an auto show being held at the Malaysian Agro Exposition Park Serdang.
