KUALA LUMPUR: Great Wall Motor (GWM) Malaysia announced that booking for the highly anticipated Ora Good Cat starts today.

A special early bird voucher of RM1,000 was given to customers who had pre-booked the Good Cat at the Malaysia Motor Show here from Nov 11-13 in conjunction with an 11.11 sales.

Jason Cheong, a 27-year-old ICT project manager from Shah Alam, was the lucky draw winner who walked home with a grand prize of a car purchase voucher worth RM28,888.

Among those present to mark the pre-booking ceremony of the Good Cat on Nov 12 were Ministry of International Trade and Industry senior director for industry development division Datuk Hanafi Sakri; Malaysia Automotive, Robotics and IoT Institute chairman Datuk Phang Ah Tong; and GWM Asean head of sales & network development Denny Liu.

The Good Cat will be launched later this month and is expected to be available in several variants with indicative pricing from RM150,000 to RM180,000.

GWM organised a media drive of the Good Cat last month. The fully imported Chinese car received generally positive reviews.

Depending on variant, the range is up to 500km (NEDC). Real-world test results have shown the actual range to be closer to 420km.

To enhance comfort and project a premium aura,  the Good Cat is equipped with, among others, a two-tone design interior, a 7-inch instrument display, a 10.25-inch multimedia touchscreen display that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, full electric panoramic sunroof, driver massage seat and wireless charger.

As part of aftersales support, GWM said it would provide 24-hour roadside assistance service and assured that spare parts would be readily available from a parts warehouse it has set up in Shah Alam.

Customers can test-drive the car at designated locations that are listed at the GWM website www.gwm.com.my.
