PETALING JAYA: The new Peugeot 3008 SUV has been launched with two variants for choice - Active and Allure, and are priced at RM142,888 and RM155,888 respectively.

It arrives with five colour options of Metallic Copper, Magnetic Blue, Amazonite Grey, Ultimate Red and Pearl White, while being accompanied - like all Peugeot models, by a five-year manufacturer’s warranty together with Nasim’s existing 24-hour Peugeot Assistance service and complimentary Sky Park Subang lounge access.

Under its hood lies a 1.6-litre twin scroll turbo high pressure (THP) engine with Variable Valve Timing mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with Tiptronic to manage the output of 167PS and 240Nm of torque.

The difference between the base Active and top specced Allure variants is the latter features LED head and tail lights, eight-way electric driver seat and interior mood lighting.

Standard features include USB and Bluetooth connectivity, auto electric parking brake, automatic dual zone air-conditioning, six-speaker with 3D Arkamys sound system and premium luxury premium leather seats.

Safety features as standard are six airbags, hill start assist, electronic safety program, anti-lock braking system, electronic brakeforce distribution, emergency brake assist, anti-skid regulation, dynamic stability control and advanced grip control as well as hill assist descent control.

The character of the front face has been redesigned by incorporating a stylish new chequered wide grille with chrome plated trims and fog lamps emerging from the bodywork.

Inside, the clever i-Cockpit dashboard features a compact steering wheel, a 12.3-inch digital Heads-Up Display screen that shows navigation, speed, trip-computer, front and rear parking assistance and footage from the reverse camera.

This all-digital display is at head-height and provides easy visibility.

The next generation Peugeot i-Cockpit interior serves as the SUV’s best utility feature in its segment.

The various parameters of the coloured ‘heads-up’ display are managed by the Toggle Switches which are easily accessed by the fingertips.

The new SUV comes with a wide-ranging set of technological equipment for improved safety such as Park Assist with front and rear parking sensors, available space measurement which assesses the size of the potential parking space and the reverse camera with 180-degree function that automatically activates when the reverse gear is engaged

The all-digital display shows key information on vehicle speed at head height and visibility of all driving information.  The panels’ different modes are operated using the control wheel located on the left of the steering wheel.

The spacious 520-litre boot size can be further enlarged with the split folding rear seats with ‘Magic Flat’ functionality.

With the rear seats folded, the total storage volume is increased to 1,670 litres.

The new 3008 SUV rides on 18-inch Los Angeles Shiny Haria Grey alloy rims.

Its style, spaciousness and its revolutionary Peugeot i-Cockpit, garnered the Peugeot 3008 SUV with such accolades as 'European Car of the Year 2017' at the Geneva Motor Show 2017 and also bagged the Grand Prix award for 'Best Interior Design of 2016' at the 32nd International Automotive Festival.
