UPDATE: GWM Malaysia announced on June 16 that it has hired Roslan Abdullah as its new chief operating officer.SUBANG JAYA: Proton has appointed Ainol Azmil as its covering deputy chief executive officer effective June 10.
Ainol will report directly to Proton chief executive officer Dr Li Chunrong.
Concurrently, he will continue to serve his existing portfolio in Corporate Strategy and Group Technical Procurement.
Ainol will be covering the role of Roslan Abdullah, who is leaving after serving five years as the company's deputy chief executive officer.
Roslan helped Proton reinforced its position as the prominent brand in Malaysia while also entering the EV market with its first product, the Proton e.MAS 7.
Dr Li said the company was confident of Ainol's ability to carry out the temporary appointment.
"At the same time, Proton would like to convey its utmost gratitude to Roslan for his contribution to the company and we wish him well in his future undertakings,” Dr Li said.
