The 1.4-litre turbocharged Swift Sport is aimed at buyers seeking a car with a sporty driving experience, alongside a relatively affordable price point of S$109,900 (RM342,000 with COE).
Unlike the Swift Sport launched in Malaysia last month, the one for the Singapore market comes with a 48V mild-hybrid system, making 127hp at 5,500rpm and 235Nm from 2,000 to 3,000rpm. Contrast that with the Malaysian version at 140hp and 230Nm mated to a 6-speed automatic.
The Swift Sport for Singapore gets a 6-speed manual with a 0-100kph sprint time of 9.1s as opposed to 8.1s for the automatic.
This exclusive partnership is formed with Champion Motors, the distributor of Suzuki cars in Singapore.
Although small in size, the Suzuki Swift Sport is said to punch above its weight with the highest torque output compared to any of its competitors.
Motul said its lubricant delivers engine enhancing performance and the lubrication needed to operate at maximum efficiency in the Swift Sport.
To celebrate this partnership with Suzuki, Motul will be offering a limited number of Singapore’s Suzuki Swift Sport owners a complimentary upgrade to Motul’s engine oil for an entire year when servicing their car with Suzuki Singapore.
Motul’s engine oil promises several key benefits such as reduction of internal friction, excellent engine cleanliness and superb oil film strength to give a boost of performance.
To demonstrate this performance, the Suzuki Swift Sport launch event in partnership with Motul was held at the end of April on the Kranji Karting Circuit (KF-1) in Singapore.
Members of the media were given the chance to test drive the Swift Sport enhanced with Motul lubricant, as the “hot hatch” made its debut in Singapore.
