PETALING JAYA: Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) has announced the expansion of the Ioniq 6 range in Malaysia with the addition of two new variants – Lite and Plus.
These new variants join the previously launched Max RWD and Max AWD variants. The move aims to make the award-winning Hyundai Ioniq 6 available to a wider range of Malaysian buyers.
The prices for the Ioniq 6 range in Malaysia start at RM219,888 for the Lite RWD and RM249,888 for the Plus RWD.
These prices are on-the-road before insurance and include an eight-year/160,000 km battery warranty.
Customers can also upgrade the standard vehicle warranty to five years/100,000km for an additional RM10,000, which includes three years/50,000km of free service.
The first 30 owners will also receive a free one-year Shell Recharge Gold membership upon vehicle delivery.
Deliveries of the Ioniq 6 Lite and Plus are expected to start in the fourth quarter of this year.
The Hyundai Ioniq 6 has received three prestigious global awards – 2023 World Car of the Year, 2023 World Electric Vehicle of the Year, and 2023 World Car Design of the Year.
It is the second Ioniq model from Hyundai and the second recipient of these three World Car Awards after the Ioniq 5 in 2022.
The new Lite and Plus variants are single-motor rear-wheel drive (RWD) vehicles. They are equipped with a 53 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery and a 111 kW motor that produces 350 Nm of torque. Both variants can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.8 seconds.
The range on the WLTP cycle is 429 km. The Lite and Plus variants can also charge from 10% to 80% in 18 minutes using the 800-volt architecture shared with the Max variants.
The Lite and Plus variants come with several features shared with the Max variants, including seven airbags, Lane Keeping Assist, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L), two 12.3-inch screens, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, ambient lighting, wireless phone charging, and a power tailgate.
Bookings for the Ioniq 6 can be made at authorised Hyundai sales outlets nationwide and through the online booking platform Cl!cktoBuy.
The Lite and Plus variants are available in five body colours – Abyss Black Pearl, Nocturne Grey Matte, Biophilic Blue Pearl, Dive Blue Solid, and Gravity Gold Matte.
