BANGKOK: Honda's updated Accord is said to arrive in Thailand's showrooms on Feb 25 and has teased its arrival with a short snippet to entice the imagination.

Although there's no official mention of the car's specifications, what can be seen is that it take after the Accord that was was just recently launched in the US.

And if that's the case, it should have LEDs for the lights (front, rear and DRL) as well as a newly designed front grille, fog lamps and wheels.

The exterior seems a little more sculpted than its predecessor to exude greater elegance than before and also there's mention of an aluminium hood used for weight savings purposes.

Inside, there's expectation that it will be a little more luxurious than before and should come with a new instrument cluster and infotainment system.

If that's the case, then we're hoping that the seven-inch touchscreen infortainment system that works with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay gets retianed too.

Ride and handling should also feel the winds of change with a revised suspension system that now possesses new dampers and a retuned electric power steering system.

As for powerplants, there's the possibility that two engines will find its way under the hood - a 155hp 2.0-litre or 175hp 2.4-litre (or both), but the 278hp 3.5-litre V6 with a six-speed automatic gearbox used in the US-spec Accord might be an unlikely candidate.

The arrival of the Accord precedes the introduction of the all-new Civic in Thailand in March.
