The T60 is due to be officially launched in the third quarter, and Weststar Maxus Sdn Bhd had a preview of the T60 at its showroom in Jalan Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur today.
Imported from China, the T60 is powered by a 2.8-litre VGT (Variable Geometry Turbocharger) engine and 6-speed automatic gearbox.
This powertrain outputs 148hp at 3,400rpm and 360Nm of torque at 1,600 to 2,800rpm.
Fuel consumption is rated at 8.1 litre per 100km, and the T60 has a wheelbase of 3,155mm.
Features on the T60 include leather seats, a 10-inch touchscreen, 360-degree surround view camera system, push-start ignition, LED headlights and Adaptive Front Lighting System.
Safety features include six airbags and Electronic Stability Program (ESP).
There's also a rotary dial for selection of 2H, 4H and 4L drive modes.
The T60 also claims to have the most spacious rear passenger area in its class.
Maxus is a brand owned by Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp (SAIC), which is the leading automaker in China, thanks to its joint ventures with Volkswagen and General Motors.
Weststar Maxus Sdn Bhd is the sole distributor in Malaysia for vehicles from SAIC Motor.
Besides the upcoming T60, Weststar Maxus has the V80 commercial van and the G10, a 10-seater premium multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) in its vehicle line-up.
