The RM248,900 2.0 TFSI is slotted in the middle of the pack. And if your budget for an Audi A4 can’t stretch this far (we know, times are bad), wait till January for the 1.4 TFSI, which looks to be an interesting pick. We are approaching the tail end of 2016, so the wait won’t be long.
The 1.4 TFSI is your ticket to affordable German luxury. It replaces the 1.8-litre motor, and makes 150hp/250Nm versus 190hp/320Nm in the 2.0 TFSI and 252hp/370Nm in the 2.0 TFSI quattro.
A number of foreign reviews show off the front-wheel drive 1.4 TFSI in good light. It has an advanced engine that isn’t underpowered and still offers a good deal of driving performance while being easy on fuel consumption, they say.
Looking at the specs sheet for the three A4 variants for Malaysia, the base A4 is decently specced for a compact luxury sedan but we have to wait for the final approved price to see where it stands with respect to the competition.
One notable feature absent in all three variants is a rear view camera, which is included in the optional Technology package.
