NEW YORK: Details of a limited edition BMW 435i ZHP Coupe that’s only available in the US, has been released with upgrades that include the M-Tech II body kit, a ZHP shifter knob and shifter, upgraded suspension parts and settings to name a few.

There will only be 100 units of the 435i ZHP Coupe Edition to be built with key elements from the BMW M Performance Accessory catalogue that not only includes

The package starts by dressing the standard 435i with a M-Tech II body kit that includes a carbon front splitter and rear spoiler, a rear diffuser and black kidney grilles.

Added into the car is the M Sport Package that also includes a front and rear aerodynamic kit, aluminium hexagon trim with black high-gloss accents and an M sport steering wheel for the variable sport steering system.

For improved dynamic capabilities, the Track Handling Package adds 18-inch Orbit Grey V-Spoke wheels and M Sport Brakes with 4-piston (front) and 2-piston (rear) callipers, along with the adaptive M suspension

Also included is a mechanical limited slip differential, commonly known as an LSD, which uses three clutch plates for a total of 30% lockup on acceleration and 9% lockup on deceleration.

This lockup provides instant power to the wheel that has the greatest amount of grip to gain better traction out of tight corners.

An additional benefit in low-grip situations is that both wheels get equal torque, by optimising traction to ensure more controlled and precise driving behaviour at the vehicles limits of adhesion – meaning quicker acceleration out of corners.

The engine plays to a new software tune and even gets a new air intake system that gains an added 35hp and 43Nm of torque for a total of 335hp and 450Nm (8-speed automatic) or 430Nm (6-speed manual)

It also receives a new cover and rocker panel decals for a more obvious distinction from the standard engine and the accelerator pedal calibration now gets a quicker engine response regardless of which mode (Comfort, Sport, Sport+) it’s in.

The exhaust also gets a tune up, providing more burble than before, even in comfort mode and gets amplified in Sport mode.

The stainless-steel exhaust is now 4kg lighter with less backpressure and comes with two stainless steel tips with a brushed finish connect to a muffler with a straight-through design.

It seems only selected BMW M Centers will take on the ZHP, and BMW says production will commence in July, while pricing will be announced closer to its official sale date.

Meanwhile, customers can take the time to choose whether Alpine White or Black Sapphire Metallic will colour their ZHP.
