KUALA LUMPUR: GWM Malaysia is now offering the Haval H6 HEV with a Phantom Black interior as it marks record sales of its mainstream SUV in the first half of 2025.
The additional colour choice amplifies the premium and sporty aesthetics of the SUV, with an all-black interior featuring soft-touch finishing and silver highlights. It joins the existing interior palette, giving customers greater freedom to match their personal style and expectations.
Like the current Haval H6 HEV that was launched in October last year, it comes in five exterior colours of black, green, silver, grey and white. Price for the locally assembled model remains unchanged at RM139,800 (on-the-road without insurance).
The black interior was introduced in response to market feedback.
“Our customers have made it clear — there's a strong preference for interiors that feel modern and refined. We are proud to deliver on that, while continuing to lead with performance and value,” said GWM Malaysia chief operating officer Roslan Abdullah.
The company has made the hybrid an even more attractive proposition with a battery warranty that has been increased from 8 years to 10 years or 1 million kilometres (whichever comes first).

In addition, the hybrid battery warranty now follows the car, and is transferrable to the next owner. GWM Malaysia said this move would promote "peace of mind for owners and better resale value." The enhanced warranty is also extended to existing owners.
For the first owner, the vehicle is covered by:
> A standard manufacturer’s warranty of 7 years or 200,000km, whichever comes first.
> An engine warranty of 10 years or 1 million km.
> A HEV battery warranty of 10 years or 1 million km.
> A HEV system warranty of 8 years or 1 million km.
For the next owner, the warranty coverage is as follows:
> The standard manufacturer’s warranty remains unchanged at 7 years or 200,000km.
> The engine warranty is 7 years or 200,000km.
> The HEV battery warranty continues at 10 years or 1 million km, as it is transferable.
> The HEV system warranty is 8 years or 200,000km.

There are no upgrades in the mechanicals. The hybrid is equipped with a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine paired with a single electric motor in front for combined output of 240hp and 530Nm of torque. It is hooked up to a 2-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT).
The hybrid's ability to go far is bolstered by real-world results.
It was recently validated in an independent fuel efficiency contest and recognised by the Asean Book of Records as the first hybrid SUV in Asean to achieve the longest verified real-world driving distance.
GWM Malaysia is now offering a limited-time promotion on the Haval H6 HEV, which includes RM6,600 worth of savings.
The Haval H6 HEV, now in its third generation, competes against the Proton X70, Chery Tiggo 7 Pro, Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid, Honda HR-V and Mazda CX-5.

Besides the warranty update on the Haval H6 HEV, GWM is expected to roll out the Ora Good Cat GT hatchback and the Wey 80 plug-in hybrid MPV before the year is over.
As its name suggests, the Ora Good Cat GT is the beefed-up version of the Ora Good Cat, with an electric powertrain that has been upgraded to 171hp (+28hp) and 250Nm (+40Nm) of torque.
Meanwhile, the seven-seat Wey 80 comes with a 1.5 litre-turbocharged petrol engine that works with two electric motors that could produce a combined 480hp and 762Nm of torque.
GWM Malaysia has expanded its network from 18 outlets in early 2024 to 26 by mid-2025, with plans to reach 35 outlets by year-end.
The company recently said it had achieved a record-breaking first half in 2025, surpassing its total sales for the entire year of 2024 in just six months.

This represented a 20.3% increase over the previous half-year. Sales was led by the Haval H6 HEV though the company did not provide a breakdown of how many cars were sold locally.
"Our growth shows that Malaysians are embracing our vision of cars that combine innovation, value, and relevance to their everyday lives," Roslan had said in early July. — George Wong
