Kia EV3 teased ahead of May 23 global premiere

PETALING JAYA: The Kia EV3 is set to break cover on May 23.

Its global world premiere will be live-streamed on Kia Worldwide YouTube channel at 6pm (Malaysian time) on that day.

To set the scene for the unveiling of the baby EV, Kia has released the first teaser images of the EV3, the brand’s new compact EV SUV set to enhance the accessibility of electric mobility from the Korean carmaker.

The teaser images showcase the bold, geometric and robust aspects of the EV3’s exterior design while highlighting its dynamic styling.

These qualities are emphasised by the boxy rear fenders and tailgate, as well as the EV3’s signature Star Map lighting, which imbue the vehicle with a strong, futuristic identity.

The EV3’s design stems from the same principles used to sculpt Kia's flagship EV9 SUV.

Kia’s "Opposites United" design philosophy is the foundation for continuity throughout the brand’s model range and gives the freedom for each vehicle to express its unique character.

Aiming to broaden the accessibility of electric mobility following the introduction of the multi-award-winning EV6 and EV9 models, the EV3 is a compact yet fully equipped EV SUV that Kia says offers outstanding performance through its use of innovative technologies.

The EV3 will go on sale later this year.

The EV6 and EV9 are already on sale in Malaysia, and the EV3 should join the local electric SUV line-up by early 2024 at the latest. Unlike the 800V architecture found in the EV6 and EV9, the EV3 uses a lower-cost 400V system.

The EV3 and EV4 concept models were revealed in November last year.
