PETALING JAYA: Perodua has dismissed allegations on social media that the Axia has a steering lock defect.

It said it has found the allegations on its smallest model to be false after it and several government agencies have conducted detailed investigations.

On the other hand, it accused "some quarters" of trying to damage its brand.



"We are working with the authorities to identify those involved and we will consider appropriate action deemed fit,"it said in a statement.

It said all its vehicles undergo strict safety procedures and tests set inhouse as well as by government agencies such as Sirim and the Road Transportation Department.

It urged customers to offer feedback directly to the company as it has a team to solve any issues concerning its products and services.
