MILAN: Marking the 40th anniversary of Giorgio Armani and the 130th birthday of the Piaggio Group, the two Italian companies known for their style and creativity jointly developed the Vespa 946 Emporio Armani edition to celebrate the occasion.

The Vespa 946 is a modern reinterpretation of the original Vespa produced in 1946 and it now takes on Emporio Armani's signature subdued palette of colours such as greys with subtle hints of green that’s visible under certain light conditions.

Along with its brown-leather finishes and luxury accessories, it stylishly arrives with its galvanised metal parts resulting in a satin-like finish to create an opaque effect.

The ‘Emporio Armani’ words appear on the side while the iconic eagle logo sits above the headlight and it further gets equipped with aluminium cylinder blocks for its four-stroke electronic injection engine.

It rides on 12-inch wheels, front and rear 220mm disc brakes and gets a channel ABS along with traction control and even internet connectivity.

Piaggio has not mentioned pricing, but it will surely be inexpensive, since this scooter will be produced in a limited run of individually numbered units to go on sale in some the world’s major cities.
